Lattern is a daily memory puzzle. We designed it to need as little of your data as possible. This policy explains what the app touches and why.

What stays on your device

  • Your play history and streak (daily results, scores, memory span, stats) are stored locally on your device with Apple's SwiftData, and synced to your Apple Watch and widgets through a private App Group container. We don't have a server and we never see it.
  • Your settings (reminder time, sound, haptics) are stored locally.

What we don't collect

  • No account, no sign-in, no email required.
  • No contacts, photos, location, or health data.
  • We do not sell your data. Ever.

Optional analytics

If enabled, Lattern uses PostHog to record anonymous, aggregate product events (for example, "a session was completed" or "the paywall was shown") to understand how the app is used. These events are not tied to your identity.

Advertising

The free tier shows occasional ads via Google AdMob (a single post-session interstitial and an optional rewarded video, no banners). Before any ad measurement that involves tracking, iOS will ask for your permission (App Tracking Transparency). Lattern plays exactly the same whether you allow tracking or not. Lattern+ removes ads entirely.

Install & ad measurement

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to measure how many people install Lattern and which marketing campaign brought them, so we can run our advertising efficiently. It records a Firebase-generated app-instance identifier, the first-open (install) event, basic device and usage information, and approximate location derived from your IP address. This information is processed by Google. If you allow tracking in the App Tracking Transparency prompt, your device's advertising identifier may also be used to attribute your install to one of our Google Ads campaigns. Purchases

Lattern+ subscriptions and the lifetime unlock are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive only the entitlement status needed to unlock features; Apple handles payment and billing.

Notifications

If you turn on the daily reminder, Lattern schedules a local notification on your device. No reminder data leaves your device.

Children

Lattern is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information.

Your choices

  • Turn analytics-related tracking off by declining the App Tracking Transparency prompt (or in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking).
  • Delete all local data by deleting the app.
